What is Reiki?
Reiki is a system of energy healing therapy that can be used to give direct, distance or self-healing. Reiki works with the body by removing blockages and stagnancy in the life force energy, or qi, so that natural flow is regained. This form of traditional Japanese healing technique can be administered hands-on or hands-free and is safe and suitable for use with a wide variety of illnesses and conditions. Besides the physical benefits change in emotional balance and wellbeing are also experienced.
How it works:
As with all holistic treatments Reiki treats the body as a whole and works to restore natural energy by removing negative blocks and stagnant energy. Although considered to be a spiritual practice Reiki is not a religion. The therapist or practitioner channels energy through their body into the patient’s body, having been intuitively guided to the specific areas of the body that require healing. The treatment is usually administered through clothing whilst you are lying down or seated. During the healing treatment you may experience a change in body temperature, along with the visualisation of colours and a deep sense of relaxation.
Reiki has an immediate effect on many symptoms and provides a highly effective method of pain relief and pain management. It can alleviate physical conditions like headaches and migraines, stomach aches, cramps and lower back pain. Reiki can also be used as a treatment for reducing the discomfort of insect stings. Stress, anxiety and depression can also be managed with regular reiki treatments.
